Decorating ideas
Paper Blossoms originally published at familycircle
Instead of red roses, arrange a cheerful bunch of frilly paper blooms.
Here’s how: Create a loop at the end of a piece of paper-covered floral wire. Stack two mini cupcake liners and three regular-size liners, and use a needle to make a small hole in the center of the liners. String a mini cupcake liner through the bottom of the looped floral wire, adding a bit of gel adhesive to the loop. Push mini cupcake liner up and gather it at the center, adhering it to the glue. Repeat with second liner, gathering it over the first, then do the same with each of the three regular-size cupcake liners. When the flower is complete, wrap the stem with floral tape.

HOMEMADE ITALIAN CREAM SODAS by butterwithasideofbread
Holiday food is great and all but a fun tradition we have is to make specialty drinks, particularly for New Year’s.
Italian Cream Sodas are a favorite of mine but they are so overpriced at restaurants I tend to not order them often. Did you know that you can make your own for a fraction of the price? Seriously! They’re super tasty and I love how they look. Aren’t they so festive and pretty?! They are indeed.
What you’ll need:
- Club Soda
- Half & Half
- Torani Syrups
- Ice

Triple Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries by blogs.babble
If you haven’t already started thinking about Valentines day, it’s high time you do. After all, you wouldn’t want your sweetheart writing you off into the annals of the Unthoughtful Lovers, right? No way. This year, your valentines day is going to rock because you’ve happened upon this clever and simple little idea for triple dipped strawberries that will rock the romance right into any holiday.
These berries are easy enough for kids to make, fancy enough for you to gift to your stingy mother-in-law, and sexy enough to feed to the one that makes your heart go pitter-patter. Resplendant with the flavors of white, milk, and dark chocolates, here’s how you can make a batch of these pretty berries right in your own kitch, in minutes!
Triple Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
- 1 1/2 cup each Ghiradelli white, milk, and dark chocolate chips
- 12-18 large strawberries
Carefully wash the berries and allow them to air dry on paper towels until completely dry.
Place the chocolate chips in three medium-sized, microwave safe ramekins, or small bowls with deep sides. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Microwave again for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Continue this process of microwaving for 30 seconds, then stirring the chips JUST until the chocolate is smooth and runny. You don’t want to over heat it, so this method will help you keep careful watch on the temperature of the chocolate, ensuring your berries are smooth and perfect, once finished.
Taking firm, gentle hold on the greens of each strawberry, dip the clean strawberries one-by-one into the melted white chocolate, making sure the chocolate coats the strawberry nearly to the top of the greens. Transfer to a piece of parchment paper and allow the chocolate to harden in a cool, dry area. (Tempted as you might be to speed the process by refrigerating the strawberries, the dramatic temperature drop can cause the chocolate to mottle, so just be patient and let them sit on your countertop until hardened.)
Repeat the melted process with the milk chocolate, dipping the strawberries just a little more than half way into the chocolate. Allow the milk chocolate to cool again before repeating the process with the dark chocolate.
Serve within 12 hours for the freshest flavor.
